The story revolves around a girl called Biniya who trades her lucky charm for a beautiful blue Japanese umbrella-a piece of the blue sky on a stalk as she describes it!Biniya centers her whole world around the umbrella and wherever she goes,she takes the umbrella along..as she plays by the river,frolicks along the hillsides,and dances about the streets.Biniya and the umbrella complete each other.

Her world falls apart when her umbrella suddenly disappears.Was the umbrella stolen?Was it Khatri, the owner of the tea shop who had tried to lure Biniya into giving him the umbrella before?These questions plagued my mind while my heart was heavy with the feeling I usually get when I lose something dear..Based on a novella by Ruskin Bond,this one's yet another simple yet unforgettable story.
